29/365

Caden must have super sonic hearing as soon as the furnace kicks on, he is sitting by or on a register. He is such a funny little guy with the things he says. Yesterday I was questioning him on what he had at lunch all he could remember was hot dogs, when I asked him what else he said "I have no idea". His newest expression is "just kiddin'". It's just funny to hear him say stuff like that.

We've had the bunk beds up for a month. We haven't gotten around to getting the twin mattresses for them -- the kids are using their crib mattresses for the time being. They are really small but they love it because they have extra room in their bed to play with their toys. Caden has all his cars lined up in his and the plywood gives him a great space to race them around before he falls asleep.

27/365

Day two of a fever for Addison. Today she's not as energetic as yesterday. The boys went to school today so not as much fun staying home either. She enjoyed laying around watching the shows she chose. New show, Olivia, about a cute little pig character from a book was on and she loved it.

26/365

A sick day for Addison and Caden but Tylenol makes everything a little too better so there was a lot of playing going on. Building towers with the blocks was fun.

25/365

Did you know the new trend in furniture for the 4 year old and under set is laundry baskets? They love to put their "stuffs" in there and sit and watch TV. We only have 3 laundry baskets and sometimes less because surprise -- mom likes to use them for laundry.

24/365

Reese love animals. She loves our old cat, Bunny. Bunny is almost 19 years old so she's not in the mood for kids. Especially a baby who eats her cat food and dumps out her water every chance she gets but lately Reese has been learning to pet her nicely and Bunny is kind of warming up to her.

23/365

Aaron gave me a label maker for Christmas (because I wanted one). He bought me a top-of-the-line model, I returned it for a simpler {and cheaper} model but Target was all out for a while. I finally got one yesterday. It was sitting on the counter this morning and look at the sweet label I found on the counter this morning after he had left for work. In my book this is just as good as flowers any day!

22/365

Today we ventured from the house for the first time this week. We went to Target, drop off our recycling, drop off clothes to Goodwill (and pick up a few things too), and grocery shop. It was nice to get out the house but I do like staying home best!

Speech homework -- practicing his beginning /k/ sounds. He wanted to practice with Daddy.

Today was a historical day as Barack Obama became our 44th US President. I watched the festivities most of the day. Here's a couple quotes I ran across today that seem fitting, hopeful, and motivating to me.

"It's not just enough to change the players.
We've gotta change the game. "
-Barack Obama

"Be the change that you want to see in the world."
-Mohandas Gandhi

19/365

PaPa and Grammy came over today and took the big kids sledding at the elementary school. It was cold so they only lasted about 30 minutes but had a lot of fun. They came home for some hot cocoa and marshmallows and then they treated us to McDonald's for lunch too. What a fun day!

18/365

I'm usually the one behind the camera so there aren't a lot of photos of me. I tell Aaron all the time to try to take more photos of me especially interacting with the kids. Here's his attempt: me shoving yogurt in my mouth right before I go to bed. A.ttrac.tive.

17/365

A play day at Grammy's house means:
fun time with the cousins
playing with her dog, Bug
lots of treats and snacks
new books to take home
Daddy and Mommy get a lunch date alone
one tired little boy who couldn't keep his eyes open any longer

16/365

Another too cold for school day.
Snowman pancakes, morning baths, hanging around playing {Ethan's loving the pirate guys today}, naps, scrapbooking, Daddy working way too late {11 pm}
Cabin Fever building to an all time high for us all.

15/365

Second "snow day" in a row (and there's another tomorrow). -45 wind chills is just a tad too cold to send my kids outside but they need to get out some energy. They are running up the walls so to help with the cabin fever I got out the old ball pit. I think it is on its last legs after they played tonight even all our little balls are looking a bit smashed. All 4 had a good time and no injuries.

14/365

Snow Day: lots of laying around watching TV. These two would not nap in their room so I let them rest on my bed so I could scrapbook but it didn't last long before they were rolling all over and fighting.

13/365

Nap time for Reese means 2 hours of Mommy Time! Today I'm moving some furniture around in the living room and paying bills. Reesey sleeps on the blue flower pillow and has to rub the tag on it -- which is about to fall off! I love her belly sticking out -- so cute when your one!

12/365

Addison loves to help in the kitchen. Lately I found that when she helps cook she will eat new foods. Last night she ate all of her taco ring (the dough made a sun and it had a circle in the middle) and tonight she ate all of her chicken spaghetti. Won't be long and maybe she can cook the entire meal!

11/365

Reese and I have matching socks. My friend Nancy gave them to us last year. Aren't our feet so cute only problem is Addison is dying to have a fluffy soft pair of socks like these and I've had no luck finding them anywhere. Anyone have any ideas where I can find them in little girl sizes?

10/365

Here he is the acrobatic couch jumping monkey. Ta Dah -- he fell off the back of the recliner and earned his first trip to the ER and 2 staples in his head!

9/365

Here's my little shadow. She follows me everywhere. While cleaning my bedroom she's 3 steps behind undoing everything I've already done.

8/365

Great Grandma Murray sent the kids a Fishin' game. It's great -- they can play all by themselves (with minimal bickering).

7/365

This is my definition of cleaning. I have to make a huge mess. Then don't know what to do next. This the domino effect of setting up my creative space in our bedroom. I needed some room in a closet to put a few things so I had to empty the closet completely! It's now 11pm and I don't know if we are going to be able to sleep in our bed tonight.

6/365

Tonight Ethan was playing with one of our doll houses but he doesn't want to play with the people -- he's a dog man. Look at "Puppy" as he was calling it sleeping on the bed. After that he proceeded to get out the little table for Puppy and sang "Happy Birthday" to it and then helped Puppy blow out the candles. Why am I so amazed? Last year at this time, Ethan only had a handful of words that he could say and never played imaginatively like this. He's come so far (and yes, we are in a new "naked" phase again).

5/365

Ever since I donated my scrapbook cabinet to the kids and filled it full of art supplies, Addison spends lots of time doing art and projects every single day. Caden joins her often. She loves to be crafty -- I wonder where she gets that from.

4/365

Daddy reading a goodnight story in the new bunk beds! They discovered we owned the book "Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom" and they were so excited because they have it at school too.

3/365

Reesey all tuckered out from terrozing her cousin Jeffie for 3 days. She's learned a lot from her older brothers and sister including how to tease!

2/365

Ethan playing Jackson and Jeffrey's new game "Flippin' Frogs". My kids loved it. Notice the frog in midair!

1/365

Jumping fun at the cousins' house! Made our mattress a little (a lot) leaky.

Project 365

It's the latest rage and the trendy thing to do in scrapbooking. Basically it's taking a photo a day for an entire year. BIG commitment! I'm going to try it. I don't have problems taking photos anyway. I average about 500 a month -- maybe I need a 12 step program and a new computer with bigger storage capacity! But I want to improve my photography skills and my capture my everyday life. I'm not quite sure "what" I am going to do with my photo-a-day photos but I'll figure that out later. I didn't know where to put them and didn't want to use my regular blog for this and my friend, Candi, started a blog just for her Project 365 photos so I thought I would too -- cuz I'm a copycat! So I'm starting a few days behind but I hope to keep up on a regular basis.
